When 99-million-year-old temporal memories captured in amber meet Hotel MVSA, what kind of sensory sparks will ignite?
This summer, Hotel MVSA has specially invited Huang Yi-Jen (Amber Boy)—a leading Taiwanese amber artist, collector, and paleontologist in Asia—for a cross-disciplinary collaboration, transforming the corridors of every floor into a “vertical boutique art museum,” officially launching “Amber Boy’s World of Whimsy: An Amber Art Solo Exhibition”!
【Exhibition Highlights & Must-See Features】
● A total of 33 exquisite art pieces are exhibited throughout the hotel, including hidden masterpieces making their world debut exclusively at Hotel MVSA:
Namely “Amber Boy Sugar” and “Amber Boy Honey” (1F Lobby). Inspired by a young boy’s childhood companion, the “robot,” these pieces fuse precision watch movements with translucent amber, serving as a clever metaphor for the human brain as a time machine that precisely freezes an innocent child’s heart.
● The heavyweight luxury masterpiece “Deer” (1F Lobby): Modelled after The Dalmore whisky’s iconic “12-pointed stag emblem,” it is cast from selected 99-million-year-old Cretaceous Burmese amber, perfectly paying tribute to Hotel MVSA’s unique spirit of world-class winery partnerships.
● An epic of time spanning hundreds of millions of years (6F & 8F Public Spaces): Stroll up to the 8th floor to see how “Dinobird,” which blends Baltic beeswax amber, Burmese black amber, and Dominican amber with insect inclusions, witnesses the epic of evolution; or encounter the “Tiger Lord” series on the 6th floor, which uses amber to reshape the golden body of the deity, combined with traditional Taiwanese hand-carved temple craftsmanship.
